VALORANT Patch 13.00: A Setup Checklist Before You Change Sensitivity

Source note: Riot's official Patch 13.00 notes report a new competitive map rotation, agent cooldown changes, Bandit tuning and an Omen audio clarity change. The setup guidance below is our analysis of those facts.

Do not reset sensitivity because the map changed

Summit entering Competitive creates unfamiliar angles and distances, but it does not change the physical relationship between mouse movement and camera rotation. Keep a recorded cm/360 baseline while learning the map. If aim feels different, separate unfamiliar pre-aim from an actual sensitivity problem.

Recheck crosshair visibility on Summit

A new environment is a legitimate reason to test contrast, outline and center-dot choices. Walk through bright, dark and visually busy areas, then adjust one crosshair property at a time. This is a readability check, not a reason to replace every setting.

Practice the fights the patch creates

Riot says Summit has three lanes and two sites, and Patch 13.00 also changes several ability cooldowns. Short flick and tracking drills can warm up mechanics, but they do not reproduce utility timing or angle discipline. Use the practice range for a baseline, then validate decisions in the actual map and modes.

A ten-minute setup check

  1. Record current DPI, sensitivity and cm/360.
  2. Confirm resolution, refresh rate and frame pacing.
  3. Test crosshair visibility across several Summit areas.
  4. Run the same five-trial reaction test and 30-second flick drill.
  5. Change only one setting if the repeated evidence supports it.
